But it's a little bad that the story and the cliffhanger about existing eliatropes was changed. The story of IoW, and so, WLG, was retconned after the tome 4 of Wakfu. Well, depending on the reasoning, I could see why you would dislike it. I was more angry at the retcon of IoW than the death of Nox. In contrast, Yugo was brought up humble, only slowly discovering just how powerful he is and taking down progressively stronger opponents who were seemingly unbeatable, partly by dint of simply persisting even when it looked hopeless, in stark contrast to Adami, who finally just gives up even when Yugo insists they can still succeed.Īfter getting stuck bringing up baby Grougal, it starts becoming clear that Adamai resents Yugo for being able to go on adventures without him, but Yugo never notices there's anything wrong until it's far too late to mend their relationship. And so Adamai grew up unchallenged as the most powerful thing around, never having to break a sweat and with his only role model as a clear example that there's nothing stronger than a dragon, only to be not just comprehensively beaten by far more powerful opponents, but completely outclassed by his supposedly-weaker brother, and he is repeatedly forced to watch from the sidelines while Yugo saves the day. There's no way that Grougal could bring up a young Eliatrope, but at the same time nobody else could possibly look after a baby dragon. In hindsight, looking back across the entire show it's clear that Yugo and Adamai were always doomed to grow apart in a way that Firstborn twins were never supposed to. I have a headcanon that the Firstborn aren't part of the usual cycle at all, which is what enables them to keep the same identity across every lifetime.

It is said all the Eliotropes that were still alive around that time were sucked into the Eliacube and remain within since. In other words nobody will remember an Eliotrope after one dies.Īny surviving Eliotropes disappear from the face of the earth in the year 982, right when Yugo uses the Eliacube, accidentally hatches Chibi and Grougaloragran and releases Qilby from the White Dimension. To add to the tragedy, all memories one may have about an Eliotrope, be it as a friend, family or enemy, are completely erased.

They don't truly have a soul because they are a part of Yugo. Unlike the Disciples of Twelve, the 'soul' of an Eliotrope does not go to Incarnam (heaven) after death to be reborn it disappears. The fact that they completely cease to be after their death doesn't improve their situation. Because they originated from Yugo's darker emotions and thoughts, they have a dark and brooding personality. These fragments of Yugo's soul and darker emotions took on a psychical shape and conscience, becoming the Eliotropes.Įliotropes are a cursed race.

These fragments got scattered across time and space, randomly appearing between the years 646 and 982 in various locations on the World of Twelve. Though Yugo achieved godhood for a short period of time during the empowerment, the merging was accompanied by him losing fragments of his past lives and (negative) emotions. Yugo the Eliatrope King merged with the six Eliatrope Dofus to gain the strength needed to save his friend from getting killed by the monster Ogrest, a being that threatened the world for almost two hundred years with floods and earthquakes.
